2017 Senior Walk
We were so excited to see all the CHS grads walking through the halls of Wood River this week! What an amazing chance for our little's to see the end goal and for our grads to come back to where they started. It was a very emotional and amazing experience for all!
Interesting fact...the top 3 seniors of the graduating class went to Wood River :)
STAAR Pep Rally!
The 3rd grade STAAR pep rally was so much fun and got the kids geared up a excited for the big day(s). We had CMS cheerleaders, Wilma the Wildcat, 2 motivational videos, and second grade singing at the pep rally. Here is one of the videos I put together of the teachers, staff, and kids sending out some well wishes to 3rd grade!

Career Day
Thank you to all that volunteered your time to make Career Awareness Day an exciting and inspiring event for our students at Wood River! Without the support of our community and parents, we could not have made this day possible. It is an honor to work for a school and be a part of a community who puts education of our students first!

December Interactive Board
In the spirit of the season and Decembers theme of friendship, we are having a shoolwide challenge for the students. Students are going to teach the Grinch how to be a good friend, becasue lets face it, he is pretty mean :( They will be doing this by writing acts of kindness or tips on friendship on hearts that the teachers have recieved and the hearts will be placed on the board with the Grinch. The more hearts the board gets, the more the Grinch learns what being a friend is all about. Then, we will watch the Grinches heart grow, because we all know it is two sizes too small :) The goal is to see just how big the Grinch's heart can get!

December 8th: Looks like the Grinch is starting to get those tips and tricks on how to treat others and how to be a good friend! That heart is getting bigger and bigger!! Students have been writing their comments on the hearts and placing them on the board. With each tip, the Grinch's heart will keep growing :)
December 13: WOW!! Look at that heart now! So many students and teachers have participated by telling the Grinch what people have done for them to be a good friend and have given tips for how to be a good friend!
December 15: The end result! I think it is pretty safe to say the kids did a great job in giving the Grinch a lesson or two on how to be a goof friend :)
Yoga Ball + Chairs = Learning!
- Great news! With your kind donation, my Donors Choose project of 6 yoga ball chairs was funded!
Our students are going to enjoy having the option to use these in place of their regular school chairs as well as being able to wiggle and jiggle.
I cannot thank you enough for your generosity and willingness to invest in the education of our youth.
With gratitude,
Mrs. Nelson
